Ready to get your day started with a energizing boost? This is my go to morning smoothie in the summer when the berries are abundant and the greens and herbs are knocking on the door!  This smoothie has everything you need to start your day from protein, omega’s, berry and greens anti-oxidants, pro-biotic yogurt and non-dairy milk. Clear the cobwebs and get focused with this nutrient dense blast! It is also very versatile and many ingredients can be swapped out without compromising the goodness of this drink, see the notes for options!

  • Dairy free (optional)
  • Refined sugar free
  • Vegan/vegetarian (optional)
  • Nut free (optional)
  • Cleanse program friendly (optional)

Ingredients (for 1 serving):

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen kale
  • 1-2 sprigs parsley
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 tbsp sunflower butter
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tsp hemp hearts
  • 1/2 cup full fat plain greek yogurt
  • 1 cup almond milk

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.

*Note: I often add any frozen fruit, such as my blueberries, after I have blended the other ingredients to maintain a cooler temperature.

**Note: Swap spinach for kale, cilantro for parsley, any other berries for strawberries and blueberries, any type of nut or seed butter you prefer, non-dairy yogurt or equal amount non-dairy milk for yogurt and use any non-dairy milk of your choice. To make this cleanse program friendly, avoid dairy yogurt until cleanse program is finished.
