Sometimes simple is best!
This easy green bean recipe combines steamed summer beans with butter and vanilla, that’s it! I first tasted this delicacy as a side dish in a higher end restaurant, little did I know there really was no secret! This is a great way to serve up abundant green beans of summer! Serve along side other salads or your main dish.

Ingredients:
- 2 cups green beans, trimmed and cut into pieces
- 2 tsp butter or vegan butter, such as Earth’s Balance
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Steam green beans about 5-6 minutes or until firm but tender. Careful not to over steam.
Add butter and vanilla to the bottom of a serving bowl and toss steamed beans along with salt and pepper to taste, mixing to coat the butter and vanilla evenly.
